We are pleased to share our inaugural Program Report (Prenatal Screening Ontario 2019-2020)!

You will learn about:

  • available options for prenatal screening
  • uptake of prenatal screening, depending on age and location
  • performance of available prenatal screening tests
  • turn around times for prenatal screening results
  • resources available to you and the pregnant individuals in your care to support informed decision making
  • how sonographers are supported in their nuchal translucency practice through the Nuchal Translucency Quality Assurance Program
  • engagement with stakeholders who contribute to an ongoing optimal operational program, and how you can be involved.

We hope you enjoy the report and ask that you take a few minutes to complete an evaluation – help us make next year’s report even better! The French version is in progress and will soon be posted on our website.

Thank you to all the stakeholders (such as hospitals, midwifery practice groups primary care providers and testing laboratories) who contributed data related to prenatal screening to the BORN Registry and made this report possible. You are making a big difference in the lives of pregnant individuals by providing the tools for informed decision making and for maintaining a high-quality prenatal screening system.
