Fetal Blood Type Screening (Coming Soon)
Fetal blood type screening can show if your baby’s RhD status is different from yours or if your baby has certain blood group markers (called antigens). This test is only needed if you are RhD negative or if specific antibodies were found in your pregnancy bloodwork. Not everyone will need this testing.
The test looks at your baby’s:
- RhD status
- Other blood group markers (antigens): Rh D, C, c, E or Kell (K)
Both tests are publicly funded for Ontario residents.
