New BIS User

This guide is for sonographers who are registered with the NT Quality Assurance (NTQA) Program and are accessing the BORN Information System (BIS) for the first time.

To access the BORN Information System (BIS), Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is required. MFA is a security enhancement that asks you to present two pieces of evidence (your credentials) to access the system. As a sonographer, your credentials include: your username/password and PHONE (to receive a onetime-use code)

If this is your first time logging in to your BIS account, and you are having trouble logging in, please call the BORN Helpdesk at 1-855-881-2676.

Step 1: Go to the BIS log in page and choose: Log in and authenticate with PHONE

Step 2: Enter your username and temporary password and click SIGN IN

Your username and temporary password are provided by your BORN Lead (BORN local administrator) or in the case of sonographers, one of the Multiple Marker Screening (MMS) Laboratories.

Step 3: Enter your cell or a landline number (cannot have an extension) and click SEND CODE (code will be sent to your phone) or CALL ME (the automated system will call you with the code)

  • The codes are a one-time use.
  • The default country code is set to Canada.
  • Select BACK if you want to return to the previous screen.

  • If you make a mistake and need a new code, click: send a new code.
  • If you choose to receive a phone call, once you accept the phone call (press #) you will automatically be logged in.
